Eau Claire (WQOW) -The Eau Claire City Council is also hoping to make things right with some business owners by reducing the costs of decorative lights on Farwell Street.
The twenty two decorative lights were left out of the engineers report on a road improvement plan last year. The cost of those lights nearly doubled the cost of the project on these businesses.
Tonight, the council voted to reduce the special assessment for the lights by $12,437, or $44.06 per lineal foot compared to the previous $56.14 per lineal foot. The point is to help narrow the gap between the cost of the decorative lights and basic white way lighting.
